This is no shocking surprise. I’m speechless, for, the surprise is actual that no one cares and if they do, they aren’t willing to give up their comforts to do something for the greater good. Or perhaps it’s simply that none of us know what to do.
One thing I know we all need to do, is unite. There’s a start; educate and unite.
Article:
Charges were abruptly dropped against a Savannah, GA firefighter accused of threatening a black couple at gunpoint and telling them his badge entitled him to kill them with impunity.
The Daily Beast reported Wednesday that charges against Barry Arnold were inexplicably dropped in September after the government failed to prosecute. The couple who bore the brunt of Arnold’s drunken, racist meltdown want to know why.
In October of 2015, Marquist Curtis and his fiancée, Amber Phillips were eating dinner at a Savannah Applebee’s restaurant when they heard a drunken and agitated Arnold — who was voted 2014 Savannah Firefighter of the Year — use racist slurs against his server, a black woman.
Then, when he noted Curtis and Phillips, he began to direct his ire at them.
“He’s saying, ‘I got those black ass ribs just like those ni**ers,’” Curtis told the Beast. “He looked over at my fiancée and said ‘I can’t stand those ni**ers.’”
Writing this from my cell but I plan on making a video soon… Either way, please excuse any typos from autocorrect… I had to get this Trump crap off my chest.
I know people who think Trump is just another president, just another body; they all fail to note the fact that who voted for him & the numbers, every last one, show a sick and hateful society waiting for a hate filled leader to take charge. It’s so much deeper and not really funny to me; that Trump got voted in. Work in the hood and with gangs, etc won’t change some say. I say cops are going to be even more out of control. Accountability? If we could forget it before we surely can now.
So… Just another evil in office, yes. However, of the 2 evils, there’s no way I can see any logic in voting for what comes under the reign of this. I support anarchy; true and complete rule of ourselves. But America isn’t ready for that.
Since we must have someone -Sanders in my opinion-should have been the clear choice; but without him we were left with two horrible choices. No matter what you feel for Hillary, almost anyone would be better than Trump; a psychopath who cares only for himself- who showed his true colors during the election and prior to his showing interest of running.
America could have maybe had a chance at starting to change finally, for the better… Bernie was the only bit of hope there. If you disagree and think someone else; fine… I don’t care who your other was; so long as it wasn’t Trump.
And no; there’s not been an American president to ever show they actually hold true care for most of what I fight for. HOWEVER; it’s been a long damn time since we’ve had a president so proudly sexist and racist, and filled with hate.
This was originally posted yesterday, I do not have the link to the article but if I find it, I will share it; I just had this clip as it was the only updated information on her case. I don’t know if what happened regarding “domestic violence” to be true or not, but from what I’ve read and people I’ve spoken to, it doesn’t seem like that is a reliable piece of information. Whether I’m right OR not and if it is found to be true: She did not deserve death no matter if it’s true or not.
And if her case is so natural and innocent why are they not releasing any more information regarding her death to her family? Why so secretive and why did it take so long to obtain what little they have? [These people are covering up her case greatly.] It seems to me they are trying to tarnish her image with this, or because make her look like she is “bad” by using the “foster home” information… People have no reason to be ashamed of it but people will judge; and they will do so without the right to… The information given is not information that justifies a killing nor is the information that which should be held against any person, for any reason or spoken about as if it is the victims fault [the foster care child].
Update Posted on January 20, 2016 at 4:44am:
“The child was the perpetrator in the incident and the parent did receive minor injuries,” said Kelly Cable, spokesman for the Shelbyville Police Department. “We contacted the court-designated worker. The juvenile was transported to Lincoln Village on a charge of assault fourth-degree – domestic violence with minor injury.” According to CBS, an autopsy report found no outward signs of “visual bruising” and the teen did not have any heart related conditions. It will take several more weeks for pathology tests to be conducted on the teen in hopes of determining the cause of death. It’s unclear whether McMillen was in foster care, but she seems to have a previous history with social services. “
There is not much information released regarding this 16 year old’s death but this is what we do know thus far. On January 11th, 2016, the young Black woman was found ‘unresponsive’ in a juvenile detention center, where she was pronounced dead.
Here is where it gets absolutely unbelievable, though there is no low the law enforcement won’t stoop to in order to cover their own ass. They claim that they went ahead and did an autopsy on the minor and found she died of NATURAL CAUSES…
She was 16…. Yeah…. What the lies they claim she died from, aka the, “natural causes” is not something they are willing to give to her family or the public, either. They won’t release to anyone -including her family or parents- what the autopsy said other than she died of so called natural causes, and that they are investigating the death.
Now imagine if this were the person you loved more than anything; your wife, daughter, sister, best friend, aunt, niece, grandchild… How would you feel not only being treated with such little respect and regard, but also being kept in the dark about your loved ones death?
If this doesn’t further prove racism in America is all too well and alive, I don’t know what the hell will.
“I’m 38 weeks pregnant, and with my stomach again repeatedly pressed into that counter, and with my 18-month old son watching his mother be assaulted, and him screaming in fear,” she says. “There’s nothing that warrants what they did to me.”
She remembers the officers telling her ‘We’re here to remove your son,’ and her replying, ‘Nobody is touching my kid without a court order or a warrant.’ The officers reportedly did not present any papers…” – Deanna Robinson, victim of police brutality and cruelty.
Call the Hunt County Sheriff’s Department at (903) 453-6800. Express your outrage, say whatever is on your heart; voice your feelings… And please, spread the word; I explained how I’ve seen Deanna’s video (below) and pictures and that the period of cops beating and killing without punishment will come to an end. These inhumane, remorseless acts of brutality will NO LONGER be tolerated.
Deanna’s bruised stomach and legs after police beat her.
I wrote a massive article on this earlier and somehow it has vanished… This case enrages me so much I ended up making the following video about Deanna Robinson and the twisted cop who punched her numerous times in the stomach despite her shouting “I’m pregnant!” Despite her being 38 weeks pregnant and clearly showing that she would be giving birth to a new life any day. All of this happened in front of her toddler, whom they took from her.
He watched, 18 months old, as two cops kept his mother, Deanna Robinson, in the corner of her kitchen as she tries to protect her stomach. In between the sadistic punches aimed clearly at her pregnant stomach, she was then handcuffed and arrested. These criminals came in to her home with force, hurt her physically and emotionally, traumatized her 18 month old child who had no say in anything and had been through enough in his short life. No one showed any sign of caring for the SOUL, for comforting the struggles and pain in which Deanna, as any of us would, tried to cope with. They wanted to take away her son due to her previously abusive ex-boyfriend. Her hormones are so out of control given how far along she is in pregnancy…all she needed was some kindness.
But again; even with their cruelty, she did no wrong! The COPS did, but they had to come up with something, so they arrested her, charging her out of no where and for no reason with:
My mind is blown over this. How anyone is offended is beyond me. I hadn’t seen it, until 5 minutes ago. There is such hate over it; “we speak English here” to target marketing… Where to begin? There isn’t much to flesh out on those who exploded with offense because the commercial shows a gay couple holding hands with their child or because “America the Beautiful” was sung by children in languages other than English. Their hate filled, narrow minded view of the world and sadly of America is what sets America behind in the world. The people featured on the commercial are the people I hope represent America, myself included.
The commercial celebrates what this country is SUPPOSED to be about; that is, freedom of expression, the right to love whom you love, regardless of gender or race; the right to decide what to believe religiously or spiritually; if you believe in anything. And if not, that’s fine- that is what America should be about. I know I wouldn’t want to be represented any other way. I’m proud of their (Coca Cola’s) choice in the commercial, whether or not they meant to ‘target’ or not- which takes me to my next rant. “The average prison sentence for men who kill their intimate partners is 2 to 6 years. Women who kill their partners are sentenced, on average, to 15 years.
A pair of Maryland cases vividly illustrates this inequality in sentencing. In one case, a judge in Baltimore County, Maryland sentenced Kenneth Peacock to 18 months for killing his unfaithful wife. The very next day, another judge in the same county sentenced Patricia Ann Hawkins to three years in prison for killing her abusive husband. Significantly, the prosecutor in the Peacock case requested a sentence twice as long as the one imposed, while the prosecutor in the Hawkins case requested one-third of the sentence imposed.”
“As many as 90% of the women in prison today [2008] for killing men had been battered by those men.”
I found this interesting so….
Thursday, the Justice Department Bureau of Justice Statistics reported 2 of 3 hate crimes in America go unreported to police, and it is continuing to drop. The drop in victims not reporting these violent attacks to their local or state police is a reason I understand and one which shouldn’t shock anyone: they believe the cops either can’t help, or will not help.
Given how the police behave, I must say I feel the same. Before I go on, I think I will give a couple of links out to just a few stories which support the reasons why so many of us do not trust police.
The book I highly recommend isNot Guilty. It consists of essays by 12 Black American men telling their story about how non-whites and the poor are treated in America. One of the writers I believe either is or was a police officer. In his essay, he tells a tragic story regarding how the police “responded” to a dispute in a poor and non-white neighborhood. It is an incident which paints a picture of how cops respond to violence across American projects and ghettos.
If you want evidence via an article, these links will take you to articles of people who have spoken out against the behavior of former colleagues. For these, click HERE or this article – more evidence to the legitimate claim that there is no reason I see that would suggest reporting a hate crime to most police departments in America would result in anything positive.
Sadly, they aren’t the only ones who have told stories such as these.
Reporting a hate crime to those who commit hate crimes themselves doesn’t seem like an idea for success, in my opinion. And apparently plenty of others feel the same way. If the people don’t trust the police, that should speak VOLUMES and it also should be a reminder to all of us to drop our differences and unite together against police misconduct, hate crimes, and police brutality. Just to name a few issues.Below are the statistics and other interesting information. Continue reading Violent Hate Crimes Go Unreported Because Most People Don’t Have Faith in the Police, New Study→
