We as women all need, and deserve, better treatment than this. Any life –life meaning a human not a fetus which is not an infant or baby until born- is worth more than any amount of money. But the government and religious zealots feel otherwise, as we see. Abortion should be legal, safe and free. But because our health care system and our government are failing us, we as a people need to join together and help others, even if it’s only a dollar…

I talk about my abortion a lot but honestly had I not been able to have mine I would have taken my life. I note this so often because I think and fear for women and girls who are in the same shoes I was in, but in a state that doesn’t legally allow abortions. I was lucky enough to have the Lilith Fund and Whole Women’s Health help me fund my late term abortion. But the Lilith Fund was struggling before Texas government took women’s health care decades backwards. Now, they need your help more than ever.

However, this post is about a woman whom is going by the name of Alice.

Alice just learned about her pregnancy two days ago, and her Medicaid insurance will not cover an abortion. To add to the complexity, she has been on medicines for several months now that are dangerous to pregnancy. Now, she’s had to leave her children to travel to Washington, D.C., for an abortion she’s still $2,800 away from being able to afford.

Alice has raised money from friends and family, from her local abortion funds, and the clinic itself has even chipped in, but she still needs your help this weekend. Can she count on you?

Abortion is Not Evil & Shouldn’t be ILLegal- & Why Has Billions Been Given to Anti Choice Groups?

Lies the anti’s tell… The past few days I’ve been reflecting a lot after reading how corrupt and money hungry these religious zealots in office are. What if last year had happened this year; how would I have saved my life? I couldn’t have. I’d be dead. It’s not me I worry about now so much though… It’s the women who feel like I did, what is to happen to them and their lives? How many deaths are we going to see…?

Before I go on, again, I apologize that I still haven’t completed the abortion video much to my annoyance; I am trying to make it organized as possible, but with all the work, volunteer and other projects I do, editing this video has proven to be a mistake. If I can’t finish the final version soon I’ll just upload the original. Same with articles and emails/messages; I’ll be back on top of things shortly.

On to the post. Due to time related issues I’ve had to wait longer than I anticipated in posting the abortion question video as well as articles on abortion and other problems in society.

Hearing from and speaking to so many women has inspired me to fight even more for the rights of women and for the right to abort. However, knowing my story; and hearing theirs has also brought me great rage.

Anti’s want to close clinics claiming they aren’t safe for women to have surgical abortions in them because one woman was taken in a car as opposed to an ambulance during a complication, and other stupid claims made up by the anti-choice government and religious zealots.

Update on Upcoming Project(s) RE: Women’s Health, Abortion & The Forgotten…

…And the forgotten. That was me, searching for answers, looking for other women who felt as I was feeling during pregnancy. I searched the internet for hours, not knowing the terms to look for, being faced with ridiculous and religious hate posts instead discouraged me from seeking out other women who had been in (or still was) in the place I was in.

I was then pregnant for the first time, and didn’t fully come to terms with this reality until a few weeks in when I began to feel the changes and realize me and my husband’s life would change forever. Not only this, but it strengthened my flashbacks and other mental issues. I continued to search for anyone to talk to about everything; the situation I was in.

But depression during pregnancy still was something the majority of people only spoke of as being “antenatal depression” and I could find very little at the time I needed it most on mental health, pregnancy and abortion. I wanted my pregnancy done, or my life over.

So, the reason I am going to write on depression, mental health and abortion is because that was a huge part of my story, and I hope to offer women a place on my site to see they are not alone nor are they evil for how they feel.

In my opinion, why a woman has an abortion is her own, and that’s all there is to it. If it is right for you for, reason does not matter. It doesn’t mean you are any more right or wrong for having an abortion. The above photo/quote is the truth about abortion for it is no one’s business but your own, and abortion is a medical procedure; nothing more.

But the reason I am speaking about myself at the moment is again, because

The Term “Pro-Life” For Anti’s is Sickening- There’s Nothing Pro Life About Them

Wow- I just saw the “toys” of 12 week old fetuses these amazingly simple anti-choice people were handing out in North Dakota to children and I feel a great mixture of emotions; from disgust to pity to anger… Anger at their hypocrisy. They claim the title “pro-life” about them. They don’t care for the mother or her well-being much less her future. All of which, let us not forget, impacts the fetus to be infant to be child and the life it will have, massively.

Access to Plan B, Birth Control & Real Sex Ed is Vital

Ahhh New York City, can’t even begin to say how proud I am of my home city right now. So inspired to see this. =) and Ahhh Bloomberg, how I can’t stand you.

Many have turned to the morning after pill known as Plan B when the undesired and unexpected happens; there is no shame in that; in regards to teenagers especially. With lack of proper and clear communication with teens regarding sexuality, both from parent(s) and in schools, to me it’s very obvious why we have so many pregnant children/teenagers…Why we have so many Brenda’s.

Rap today may mostly be nonsense…but Tupac has a message, this one based on a true story of a young teenage mother and her baby… It’s a video all people; parents, teens, pro-abortion, pro-choice and anti’s alike should watch and think about… I am not suggesting this is the case always, by any means, but I am saying this is a reality. A hard one, maybe not one that is exactly like the sad truth the song and video show; but the dynamics of the life and the reasons and fears and choices are very often in a very, very similar category. It makes me so happy to see it is (and has been for awhile) accessible to young women in high schools across New York City and a few other cities. NYC, I am so proud to say, has been offering a service to students for access to Plan B for even longer. Sure, there are some issues, but they could easily be smoothed out if people were willing to work together and put their “embarrassment” over a natural act aside.

Being real, not many teens feel comfortable talking to their parents about sex, either that or their parent(s) are not interested. Another sad reality is
