Heartbroken For Women Needing Medical Abortions Being Faced With a World of Lies

I feel so sad for all the women in need of abortion… I have been one of them (and who is to say how many times? why should it matter?)- Thankfully I had mine a few months before Texas went even more crazy. On my YouTube channel I have the most insane comments that just make me shake my head and leave me at a loss as to what to say in response. Speaking to anti’s is like speaking to a cracked wall. But more on that later.

You’ve seen the news: When they thought no one was looking last week, state senators in North Carolina tucked several dangerous attacks on women’s health into an unrelated bill. Legislation originally meant to — yes, you’re reading this right — ban “Sharia Law” in North Carolina will now also severely restrict a woman’s ability to make deeply personal, private decisions about her pregnancy by restricting access to safe and legal abortion.

North Carolina has a proud history as a pro-choice beacon in the South. In the 1930s, we were among the first states in the country to have a state-funded family planning program. We liberalized our abortion laws before Roe v. Wade. In 1976, Congress passed the Hyde Amendment, cutting off Medicaid funding for abortion services for women with low incomes. North Carolina responded by setting up a state abortion fund, which at one point amounted to $1.5 million a year. When I started working for Planned Parenthood in 1982, North Carolina had a model, age-appropriate K-12 sex education curriculum.

The Attack on Abortion and Women Continues, Will Only Harm Women

So, let’s be honest; this isn’t about health care, this is about closing a great deal of abortion clinics and following the majority of anti’s religious beliefs, not on the healthcare of women nor on the rights of women.

Last night, Texas state Governor Rick Perry (R), a disgrace to any progression in women’s rights I believe, forced through SB5 which if passed by the House will close all but five abortion clinics in Texas. How is the closing of health clinics going to help better the health of women? Since he has proposed dozens (literally) of anti-choice bills and been denied them all, he forced SB5 to go through at a time and in a manner under which new procedural rules apply, leaving democrats; i.e., those blocking, at a major disadvantage.

Inspired by yet another fun tweet today 🙂 These anti-choice and anti-life people make me laugh. Normally, I have no time for them, but every once in awhile I find someone’s effort funny and…well, I usually end up with a video after lol.

Religious “Man” in Indiana Attempts Physical Attack on Planned Parenthood

Killing is wrong!!! Is what you hear from so many “anti-choicers.” Their “religion” tells them it’s “wrong” (wonder what would happen if they didn’t have those commandments to remind them not to kill, because even with them…). A so called “man” in Bloomington, Indiana, is in custody of the cops after going to a local Planned Parenthood clinic early in the morning, vandalizing it with red paint while it was closed, and then waiting there…with an ax.

ABORTION is NOT EVIL, Nor “Wrong” & There’s No Wrong Way to Feel During or After

First, this is a personal post. Don’t wanna know, don’t read. I am writing this mainly for women who hear what I was told today and actually wonder if it is true. That is, abortion means you are _________.  As I say in the rant below, abortion doesn’t make you anything bad. If anything, it makes you stronger. It shows your intelligence in knowing what is right for you and your life.

Before I begin, apologies for the lack of posting and tweeting recently. I am working on getting my art site completed and up, as well as a few others. Today, though, I had a very disappointing experience. I have a doctor I see regularly when I stay in Texas…it is very rare for me to find a doctor I actually like, but he has always seemed to be an intelligent, thoughtful and kind older man. Respectful, seemed to really care for his patients, etc.
