This Beautiful 11 Yr Old Black Female Has Raised 50 grand & Counting For the Cold & Homeless

“Arctic air on the way,” headlines read again….

Meet the beautiful, exceptionally precious and compassionate 11 year old, Khole Thompson. As noted in her photo, she raised $50,000 at least for the homeless in Chicago during this horrifically cold weather.

“When an 11-year-year-old girl in suburban Los Angeles learned Monday how cold it would be this week for homeless people in Chicago, she decided to do something about it.

After watching a newscast about the impending cold snap, Khloe Thompson created a GoFundMe page seeking donations for the local Salvation Army, a nonprofit group whose mission includes getting Chicago’s most vulnerable to a warm place this week.”

I went from grateful to enraged at reading; Bill Gates, who in an unrelated article (I believe it’s unrelated) he said,

“You don’t need to have a billion to be happy but it sure does help.” –Read that article here.

Imagine how much money he could have helped Khole donate to people in cities across America that have been severely impacted by the cold.

Then during the research for this post I found a few ways to help, which I’ll post below. That gave me a little hope for humanity…

We need to ensure that hope lasts, through people such as Khole Thompson, and their selfless actions.

The most recent cold is ongoing and there are things people can do in the less impacted states such as Texas,

Here is an excerpt from an article about a homeless man who was stolen from this world because he didn’t have a home in the absolutely freezing weather. This is just, I hope, to bring this to you emotionally; remember these are actual people suffering… Even when it’s not as severe as now, anyone in the more northern parts of the states knows how hard that cold can hit. This is unacceptable please don’t just close this article and move on to the next. Please be as brave as the precious child and the others like her… Check out links below.

The Maslow’s Army are blaming the cold for Martin’s death. They are also renewing their plea for change. The organization advocates for people battling addiction, alcoholism and mental illnesses.

In a Facebook post, Sam and Susan Landis of Maslow’s Army, a nonprofit called the death “unacceptable” and said the city needs a 24-hour a day facility where the homeless can find relief from the cold and heat.

Martin was familiar to members of The Maslow’s Army.

“We met Ken on our first Sunday outreach on Fountain Square almost one year ago. He was inspired to get his life together and began taking steps towards self-improvement,” read the another Facebook post on the Sam and Susan Landis page.

In August, the post said, Martin slipped in his recovery effort but “Maslow’s Army still continued to love on him and support him every way we could offering to take him to detox, meeting his basic needs every encounter including just last week.”

Maslow’s Army intends to continue its fight for a 24-hour shelter, taking its request to city hall. They have their sights set on the old Queensgate jail, a seven-story, 30,000 square foot space, that could house beds, a kitchen and more, Sam Landis said. All the group needs is funding.

There is one point on which Kevin Finn, President of Strategies to End Homelessness, agrees.

“The reality is, there is no reason a homeless person should be sleeping outside right now,” Finn said.

In Hamilton County, there are 12 homeless shelters and in Northern Kentucky, there are six, he said. Some are for families, some for women only, others men only. There are also two drop-in homeless shelters, both open 24 hours a day, one on each side of the river. They have expanded capacity for the winter months.

Shelterhouse, The Barron Center for Men in Queensgate offers an additional 200 beds in its winter shelter space through the end of February. Space is open to men and women. The Emergency Shelter of Northern Kentucky in Covington expands its shelter space through March, Finn said. Neither has ever reached capacity.

“What they might not know is when the weather gets the way it is now, some of the rules and requirements that are in place during warmer weather months are not required,” he said.

Last year, 90 percent of the area’s homeless people resided in a shelter, Finn said. Another 16 percent stayed outside on the street, the six percent overlap represents people who both went to shelters but also stayed outside.

There are people who, for a variety of reasons, will not go to shelters, Finn said. Reasons can range from mental health disorders, addiction or something else.

For placement or help getting in a homeless shelter, call (513) 381-7233.

Both Susan and Sam Landis have experienced homelessness and addiction. They are also studying for careers in the social service field at Northern Kentucky University. The system is not set up to meet the needs of homeless, Sam Landis said.

“We want to go to city hall and fight this,” Susan Landis said. “Tax dollars are being spent on a stadium and a fraction of this money could be used to help keep people warm. There are many groups out there with multimillion-dollar grants.”

“We still have this problem,” she said. “Let’s face it, something’s not being done.”

Councilman Chris Seelbach was one of the first to tweet the news of Ken Martin’s death. While the coroner has yet to determine the cause of death, Seelbach and others have drawn the conclusion Martin froze to death.

“We must do better,” Seelbach tweeted. “It’s just a matter of priorities. More tax money for those most vulnerable. Less tax money for millionaires and billionaires.”

Exactly where that money would come from and how much, Seelbach didn’t elaborate. He didn’t respond to messages left by The Enquirer.

Councilman P.G. Sittenfeld said he anticipates the council in 2018 will look at the issue of homelessness and make sure there are enough 24-hour shelters to protect people from dangerous weather, either hot or cold.

EVERY LITTLE BIT MATTERS; HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED?

Do what you can, please… These are some basic, very basic ways to help…

  1. Volunteers of America Chesapeake’s hypothermia prevention and response programs provide emergency shelter, meals and crisis intervention during the coldest months of the year. These programs serve homeless men and women each night from November through February. The program provides shelter, two hot meals (breakfast and dinner) and a bagged lunch. Also provided is access to case management and medical treatment as well as mental health and substance abuse services.

In addition to the caring professionalism of Volunteers of America Chesapeake’s homeless services staff, this life-saving service wouldn’t be possible without faith partners throughout the region, who open their sanctuaries in partnership with Volunteers of America Chesapeake’s programs to ensure that no one is left in the cold.

2) How We Help End Homelessness

We reach out to homeless individuals through street outreach and mobile outreach services and once we engage with homeless individuals, youth and families with children, we provide assistance that ranges from paying a first month’s rent to offering permanent supportive housing so that people with disabilities can become stable and productive members of their communities. In 2017, we helped over 100,000 homeless individuals.

We have found that, without supportive services, housing is often not enough to end homelessness. From helping homeless youth, to providing assistance in obtaining disability benefits, to providing transportation, to offering intensive job training assistance to homeless veterans, we operate a number of innovative supportive services programs to support our efforts of ending homelessness in America.

EMERGENCY SHELTER

While permanent housing, often coupled with supportive services, is the best way to end homelessness, many individuals and families need short-term stabilization before they can find housing that will meet their long term needs. That’s why Volunteers of America, for over 122 years, has provided emergency assistance to homeless persons in the form of homeless shelters.

DROP-IN CENTERS

Since homeless persons can be reluctant to leave the streets and accept emergency shelter or transitional housing, we operate drop-in centers — places where homeless youth or adults can get off the streets and find a temporary safe haven. And often, when homeless persons begin to trust drop-in center staff, they agree to leave the streets and enter transitional or permanent housing.

PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING

For a significant number of homeless Americans with mental or physical impairments, often coupled with drug and/or alcohol use issues, long-term homelessness can only be ended by providing permanent housing coupled with intensive supportive services.

TRANSITIONAL HOUSING

Our transitional housing programs are operated with one goal in mind — to help individuals and families obtain permanent housing as quickly as possible. Our programs serve diverse populations — from women and children who are victims of domestic violence to homeless veterans who have spent years living on the streets.

Prison Guards Unaccountable in Death of Darren Rainey & America’s Racist History & Cover-Ups….

This is a repost with my 2 cents about the evil I report and will continue to report on… Let me explain. The below case, for example, is not happy. It isn’t surprising, sadly. But I stand firmly with Malcolm X and will NOT ever turn away from the atrocities white racists do and get away with, still, daily. I share these things because I feel it is my responsibility to share. Because no one’s suffering should be ignored; BECAUSE WE SHOULD NOT GET INTO A MIND STATE OF ACCEPTING THIS SORT OF TREATMENT SO MUCH THAT IT BECOMES A TOPIC NO ONE DISCUSSES OR CARES ABOUT ANYMORE- A TOPIC OR SOCIAL ISSUE PEOPLE FEEL IS HOPELESS THUS IT GETS IGNORED. WE MUST NEVER GET TO THAT PLACE!5c3784d0a0e4e44a463c9aa51af4f684

Honor him and I hope somehow, soon, the Black and Hispanic and awake whites and anyone else, will all unite and act in a way that gets positive change. But first gang violence needs to cease… Please put down the gun; or at least realize who your true enemy is. These same people who can do these sort of sick things, as seen below, be it another situation like his, or more by cops; the racist government and prison industry. And then we can’t forget the every day racist whites. Nor can we forget what has gone on and still goes on. Point? The people doing all that; before and after you were born, are the same people who on FBI orders brought guns and drugs to the community with the orders “divide and conquer”.

They are the threat to peace and humanity and equality. I wish I had some form of action or inspiring words to say regarding the dismissal of charges in yet another stomach churning hate crime against a Black man. I’ve spent so much time trying to figure out what to do; and of course I’m here to fight and speak against racism… But I want to start teaching TRUE history.

Quickly let me go over my new plans and the current video “lessons” or “series” I’m starting as it is the ground which the murders and violence sprouts from….

Yes slavery will be mentioned; but so well bravery and strength. Also, in regards to the time in history I’ll be “teaching” or sharing knowledge about, Black people are forgotten and if not forgotten, some historians have the nerve to say that white SERVANTS and Black SLAVES were treated the same, no racism involved in the START of slavery in the states. Oh, and the founding fathers and documents had nothing to do with maintaining slavery; why, they spoke against slavery!… *shakes head*…

In the upcoming videos I’ll expose the whites lies, and remove the smoke and mirror show they hide behind. It’s time to give credit to those who built this country; not just in regards to the buildings of the District of Columbia and other states, but also other workings that shape America, as we will see.

While the rich Europeans sat on their asses and “BOUGHT” HUMAN BEINGS to then work them to the verge of death (don’t give me that ‘some masters were actually nice to them’ BS. You cannot be moral and OWN a human unless it was some facade to break the enslaved free. These “masters” had no such intention.

Just like with Ancient Egypt, history is written by those who did minimal work at most, if that; by the two faced hypocrites who cared not for the inhumanity of slavery but instead the money- all while trying to play the victim of owning slaves. …. Yes you read that right; that will be explained in the video posted either tonight or in the morning.

Whites didn’t create this country. They did create the hate and oppressive racist laws and spread lies on a legal level trying to further legitimize their cruel, sick, sadistic actions. A lot of those laws are still in act to this day impacting disproportionately the non-white communities, especially the Black community. All that has been changed is amendments made which removed any reference to Black men and women, keeping control of “white supremacy” -that’s a quote- and so forth. All these things that built America from the white side, the evil side, still are infecting and poisoning this country to this day.

And how can anyone of us expect anything less? Police and prisons and the war on drugs and SO MANY MORE LAWS we all know about and know to be unjust were created early in “America’s early days”. You cannot expect anything rooted in evil to produce honesty and kindness; equality and remorse.

So I think it’s time we all set the record straight on these topics and so many more. They have hurt, slaughtered and so much more has been stolen from the people… But they then continue on down to even lower grounds, the lowest, and claim this country never engaged in slavery as bad as “some people make it”. Regarding the main topic of my first video “lessons” in history, they also then go on to take credit for all the work and accomplishments they not once worked at. Regarding documents and papers they had to lift a finger for knowledge of reading and writing is dangerous….

But now you and I read and write. Don’t waste it. Exploit it. Share knowledge, both the heartbreaking as well as the removal of FAKE history. Replace it with TRUE history… And share… Teach the children these truths; teach ourselves these truths….and refuse to believe or tolerate their thieving LIES!

My current plans and topics I’m going to start my lessons on in the video series I spoke of, all deals with racism and the evil history of it.I am working on a video about a Black child whom was slaughtered tragically…but he received no justice, just as the majority of cases- unless the victims white and the killers Black- show us. White privilege and double standards.

Finally, if any of you are the sort to say ” I can’t handle looking or hearing…____” the sick things that happened. I don’t enjoy it but I look; and so should everyone! I refuse to look away; I refuse to stay quiet; and I refuse to play the white supremacist little game when it comes to HISTORY – from Ancient Africa to modern Africa and other places- as well as the US and all the back breaking, soul destroying evils racists did; such as forced labor in the building of the entire District of Columbia and it doesn’t stop there. (Please make sure you join my YouTube channel; I’m going to make sure I set history straight as I can, as best I can, and I hope I make a difference even if just to ONE soul.)

This tragic and intentional murder –and especially the fact it is something they found not worthy of punishment!- is a direct link to those founding lies and “men” who were behaving behind closed doors not too differently as we’ll see. The roots flower the same hateful and evil ways for until we uproot and start over, these sort will continue to get away with being indescribably cruel and evil.

Unless someone else knows another way to change things… I’m all ears; I long for the better days and to see equality!!!….. But as of right now, the America of the “Founding fathers” continues on in the legacy of brutality, prejudices, violence and racism. Otherwise, there would be a deep outrage by the world and the killers would be punished. Instead….

Four prison guards who were allegedly involved in the death of Darren Rainey—a schizophrenic inmate at the Dade Correctional Institution who died in 2012 after being thrown into a scalding hot shower and left there for two hours as punishment—will not be charged. According to the Miami New Times, on Friday Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine…

Bettie Jones, Black Female, Opens Door & Chicago Police Fatally Shoot Her

Below is a petition regaring Bettie Jones, a Black woman, age 55, and Quintonio LeGrier , both murdered by ONE Chicago Police “accidently” when she opened her door.  Though caught on camera, despite us seeing Black men, women and children being slaughtered left and right (for hundreds of years), and despite the fact that even the Chicago Police Department admits they did indeed shoot her… BUT THEY SAY IT WAS ACCIDENTAL…

So accidental makes it acceptable? No, of course not! But that doesn’t stop them from somehow managing to give us the same results as we always get: the police were not wrong.

See more information on Bettie Jones below and please sign the petition and share… Thank you….

Bettie Jones Black Lives Matter

The morning after Christmas my wife’s aunt, Bettie Jones, was shot and killed by a Chicago police officer. She was 55,  a mother of five with many grandkids, and in good spirits. She was active in her community and in church every Sunday. The Chicago Police Department admitted she was shot on accident as she answered her door.

We’ve seen nationwide the same repeating story. A police officer uses excessive deadly force with ample video evidence. Prosecutors send the case to grand jury instead of charging the officer. This grand jury process is postponed months or years to quell public outrage. Ultimately, a grand jury does not indict any officer of wrongdoing.

A grand jury “meets in secret, behind closed doors. Its proceedings are usually one-sided, and are very different from a trial. Unlike a public trial, the accused person is not present (unless he or she is called as a witness), nor is his/her counsel present (even if he is called as a witness). Also, witnesses are not cross-examined.”

On December 28, a grand jury decided that the officers who killed Tamir Rice RIP, a 12 year old playing with a toy gun in a park and shot within “2 seconds” of  officers arriving, would face no charges. A grand jury decided that 2 seconds is enough time to evaluate a situation and use deadly force against a child. This process continues to fail our society.

Police arrived after being called by Antonio LeGrier, who lived in the apartment above Bettie, when his son Quintonio LeGrier, “who was suffering mental problems” and, according to his parents, became aggressive against his father, threatening him with a baseball bat.” His father called the police expecting they would help him.

Bettie and Quintonio were both fatally shot by one police officer, who opened fire on Quintonio from a distance (shell casings were found 20 feet away). My aunt Bettie was struck in the chest by the officer’s multiple shots. That officer was called to diffuse the situation, not to shoot on sight, not to kill, but to protect human life.

This isn’t new for the Chicago Police Department. They are currently under investigation by the Department of Justice. But while that investigation takes place, I want to see uncompromising justice for my family and the LeGriers. That will not happen if this case is sent to a grand jury.

The grand jury process should not be used in the killings of Bettie Jones & Quintonio LeGrier and the process should be banned for police shootings, just as states like California have done.

Quintonio LeGrier was a very smart kid studying electrical engineering at NIU. He developed emotional problems after spending most of his childhood in foster care. Not a criminal, but a hardworking student and beloved son going through a hard time. My aunt was loved and did not deserve to be killed in her own home.

Please sign my petition calling on State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez to not send this case to a grand jury and for the Illinois legislature to ban the grand jury process in Illinois police shootings.

#Suicide Among the Unemployed vs Bankers & Mental Illness Education

This article is about suicide, unemployment, the media and mental health, mainly…but it also is about the media’s coverage -and lack of coverage, of a serious illness. I have also included resources below for those in need of someone to talk to…

First, however, I would like to make an apology and an explanation for a poorly and insensitive post I wrote a few days ago about a young banker whom has killed himself. When I came across an article written in the RT regarding the 14th banker dead due to suicide, (and you can read the post that sparked my previous post here)

I went into a frenzy of rage for many reasons. It took my wonderful father in law, however, to make me rethink what I wrote (you can check out his wonderful blog by clicking HERE).

In my last rant, I didn’t even make the point I wanted to make. I simply read the article and went into a blind rage -and I directed it in the wrong direction, carelessly, and worse, thoughtlessly. I truly and sincerely apologize for that. In this post, I would like to correct what I wrote, but also write what I was trying to say, now that I am level headed and have thought about what I said. Update on Upcoming Project(s) RE: Women’s Health, Abortion & The Forgotten…

…And the forgotten. That was me, searching for answers, looking for other women who felt as I was feeling during pregnancy. I searched the internet for hours, not knowing the terms to look for, being faced with ridiculous and religious hate posts instead discouraged me from seeking out other women who had been in (or still was) in the place I was in.

I was then pregnant for the first time, and didn’t fully come to terms with this reality until a few weeks in when I began to feel the changes and realize me and my husband’s life would change forever. Not only this, but it strengthened my flashbacks and other mental issues. I continued to search for anyone to talk to about everything; the situation I was in.

But depression during pregnancy still was something the majority of people only spoke of as being “antenatal depression” and I could find very little at the time I needed it most on mental health, pregnancy and abortion. I wanted my pregnancy done, or my life over.

So, the reason I am going to write on depression, mental health and abortion is because that was a huge part of my story, and I hope to offer women a place on my site to see they are not alone nor are they evil for how they feel.

20130330-042237.jpg

In my opinion, why a woman has an abortion is her own, and that’s all there is to it. If it is right for you for, reason does not matter. It doesn’t mean you are any more right or wrong for having an abortion. The above photo/quote is the truth about abortion for it is no one’s business but your own, and abortion is a medical procedure; nothing more.

But the reason I am speaking about myself at the moment is again, because Continue reading Update on Upcoming Project(s) RE: Women’s Health, Abortion & The Forgotten…

The Judgmental and the Survivors- Be Proud Survivors

This post is really no different from any other post I write; it’s all about judgmental people, and hoping that within my battle, you will find a reminder or anything positive (I hope this so much) to help you know you’re a) not alone and b) not anywhere near what they want you to think you are. You are a strong being, a strong soul that has survived things they could never understand. The strong one here is you; not the ones who make fun or try to make those who are already down feel even worse.

Be proud of who you are… I am still working on that myself to be honest… But in regards to my mental health, childhood and scars from years of self-injury, I am NOT ashamed.

Life is More Complex Than Anti-Choicer’s Seem to Understand.

This is just the first part of what I will expand on later this morning, I’m way too emotional right now over the seriousness of this topic, and the lack of empathy, understanding and care received. So, this blog is not finished but I think it gives the idea. I will re-post it as a new blog later today when it is completed as I intend on putting in a lot more detail and information. For now, I’m just gonna speak from my heart.

Before I begin, a song based on a true story (stories)- and it makes me wonder … a lot of things about how the anti-choice, anti-woman mind works.

No pity or sympathy or whatever else wanted this is just real and relevant as hell to why I believe the way I do.

Second I’ve Posted Today – Suicide Not Serious to the Anti-“Choice”…?

Video 2 From Yours Truly. Just gonna copy and paste what I wrote on youtube… Point of this video: regardless of abortion or if a person is simply suicidal; it is never something to take lightly… Such as one anti-choice/anti-life Christian suggested to me today.

+ (sorry for how the video ends so abruptly, I pressed the wrong button… lmao)

*** I didn’t plan on making a second video but I am outraged at the fact that a person (which means, “PEOPLE”) can think that suicide is not an immediate threat to a person’s life. Once more, this is a bit of a personal video-blog/rant and it is NOT just for people who are considering abortion nor is it saying suicide is the only reason an abortion is right. It is NONE of those things.
What I am trying to say in this is, how dare a person, regardless of abortion beliefs,  Continue reading Second I’ve Posted Today – Suicide Not Serious to the Anti-“Choice”…?

Suicide Number One Cause of Death in England…

The information in this post both breaks my heart and makes me very angry with the world. It is something very close to home, something everyone should be interested in and educated on.

In the UK, on average 3 young men will commit suicide every day, the national British charity states while the Campaign Against Living Miserably notes the public are not even aware that:

“suicide is the single BIGGEST killer of young men in the UK.”

Sadly, this is something that doesn’t shock me and I hope something we can bring change to. Mental illness and Mental health is such a “taboo” topic that it not only is ignored but GREATLY misunderstood and forgotten by the general public. And those whom are plagued with mental illness are afraid to speak out against it because of the lack of understanding, the judgments, and I know for myself it is people pretending to understand or not understanding at all, saying things like: “Think positive” or “it will get better in time.”

Pointless words that help no one. Anyhow, back to England. In 2011, there were 1,242 men between the ages of 15-35 whom tragically took their own lives. According to official data, suicide rate in men Continue reading Suicide Number One Cause of Death in England…
