Never Forget Aaron Swartz; A Revolutionary Hero…

Three years ago this world was robbed of a beautiful life, a wonderful soul…his name, Aaron Swartz. It is a very emotional topic for me, I’d like to write more about him and about all the good he has without a doubt done for us, given to us; but right now I can’t find the words.

In the below video from “The Young Turks” we are given information on just how unjust, biased and discriminatory the prison sentences are. Of course with drug offenders, who should not be in prison either, the mandatory minimums are outrageous. But comparing what Aaron Swartz “did” -wanting to help people, understanding that education should be free; and so more- to other offenses that people would think carry more time than he was facing; but don’t.

Note, under 15% of prisoners are in for murder or sexual offenses, 95% of those last offenders will haunt the streets shortly after doing time, if they do in fact do time. The majority being drug offenders who are over 56% of the prison population. The reason I note this is because these laws he goes over make it seem the American government doesn’t have an agenda; but it does.

That can clearly be seen if you look at the numbers and the crimes; if you look at the man I deem a hero, Aaron Swartz; who was facing an outrageous amount of time for doing nothing more than trying to help make this world a better place. I do blame the government for his death; his suicide.

The government was afraid of the intelligence and awareness Aaron had. His gift mixed in with his intelligence and concern for social issues made him someone they feared because they can’t grasp it; they don’t desire to… Their mind and heart are in it for the money; the people are the last thing they care for.

And thus, we lost an amazing, amazing activist & caring, kind and brilliant man 3 years ago….

Teenager Takes His Life Due to Cop Cyber-Bullying Him

Sadly, I have to head out so I am going to copy and paste this tragic article which involves a cop tormenting and bullying a teenager, driving him to suicide… Their people “skills” are lacking and beyond disgustingly insane. I do not have the link to the original article, if you know it, please do link it in the comments, when I return later today I will search for it as I did not write the following but it is definitely news everyone needs to know about.

We’ve had numerous cases of people; from the computer hero Aaron Swartz who saw suicide as his only way out due to the governments plan to punish him for a length of time not only unreasonable but also unjust. There are many cases that deal with this and this is the latest (that I know of). It is nothing but bullying and abusing power, people can say they didn’t have to take their lives but sometimes, suicide seems the only way out and when you’re in that frame of mind you can’t think straight. It feels hopeless. And sometimes, it sadly is.

Article begins.

Nineteen-year-old Pullman, Washington, resident Andrew Cain took his own life on Saturday. Now his sister, Alise Smith, is asking for an apology from the local police department who allegedly cyber-bullied the young man just days beore his death.

“The whistleblowers are the new generation of American patriots” – agrees

This article is brilliant; I have fallen in love with the truths within. The author I have the utmost love and respect for as he speaks the truth just as it needs to be spoken. Love it-Follow the author on twitter @ garyyounge – link below.

The whistleblowers are the new generation of American patriots

When Darrell Anderson, 22, joined the US military he knew there was going to be a war, and he wanted to fight it.

“I thought I was going to free Iraqi people,” he told me. “I thought I was going to do a good thing.”

Until, that is, he realised precisely what he had to do.While on patrol in Baghdad, he thought:

Join Jeremy Hammond’s Brother & Tell Judge Loretta Preska To Give Some Justice

JasonandJeremy_05-300x225

Please sign the petition to help Jeremy Hammond; a computer activist who has harmed no one, but been locked up since March 2012 “awaiting trial”. Please tell the American government pedophiles and rapists (ETC) should be in prison; not a young man whom is intelligent and wants to better society, again, harming not one soul!  It only takes a second. Please click the link below to read his twin brother’s plea for Jeremy. Here you can also add your name to the petition, and your reason for signing (the latter is optional for those who don’t desire to do it). Stand up for something REAL. Jeremy is being prosecuted under the same “law” they tried to get Aaron Swartz with. Sadly, we lost Aaron due to this. Like Jeremy, he had hurt not one soul and simply was a young, intelligent man that cared about society and where it is going. He tragically took his own life instead of being the victim of this unjust system. For his beautiful memory, for those taken from the struggle, please stand with us, and for us; for the life Jeremy has left to live; hell, the life all of us who care about the world have left to live! Are you telling us this is our destiny if we stand up for what is right?

Sharing Knowledge & Activism Isn’t a Crime – It’s Past Time For Change!!!!

We must stop this insanity... I hope you have found peace, thank you, Aaron, for all you are. You'll never be forgotten.
We must stop this insanity… I hope you have found peace, thank you, Aaron, for all you are. You’ll never be forgotten.

This is a short post but it is regarding something I feel very strongly about… Aaron Swartz was only 26 years old; a coder and activist, facing more prison time than most murderers or rapists face, due to the moronic, misled and abusive computer “crime” law in America. Please read the below and then follow the link, where you can sign your name and let the government know that we the people are not okay with these asinine laws. To learn more about the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA) simply click here and it will open a helpful website in a new tab. It is worth a read, as the text is so broad it basically makes most of us liable for prosecution.

The Computer Fraud and Abuse Act is broken.
Tell Congress to fix it.

  1. No more criminal penalties for violating a website’s fine print
  2. No criminal penalties for circumvention techniques that protect privacy and promote security
  3. Make penalties proportionate to offenses

The tragic death of Aaron Swartz, a 26-year-old coder and social activist, has shone a light on the sad truth about America’s misguided computer crime law. The Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA) has vague language that broadly criminalizes accessing a computer without “authorization,” but doesn’t explain what that actually means. It also contains heavy-handed penalties and shows no regard for whether an act was done to further the public good.

Take action by simply clicking here and entering your name. We must stand up against laws which punish those who work and fight for justice and good, and let pedophiles and true criminals out of prison. The system is broken, badly. Let them know that you know.

Please. Again, the link is HERE and it also will open in a new tab.
