City Approves Money For Drone to be Used on American’s in NC

In North Carolina the Monroe City Council has approved $44,000.00 for the Police Department to use to fund a 3 foot long, 2.5 pound drone to fly around the community when the cops “need” it. Such cases of need would be for so called “drug raids” and things of the like; not to spy on every day “law-abiding citizens” – so they claim. The government doesn’t have a track record of being honest, especially when it comes to spying on its own people. Police and the council alike agree they can see where the “concern” for abuse comes from, both shaking it off with a simple, “it is for community safety” response.

One council member, Margaret Desio, stated:

“We’ll have a lot of citizens say, ‘I don’t want that thing flying over my neighborhood,’ and I agree with them 100%. … It speaks of Big Brother watching you…. If it’s flying, there better be a damn good reason it’s in the air.”

The ACLU has filed public records requests for the use of the drone and other military devices now being implemented in American towns and cities. If anyone believes the government will actually not spy on “law abiding citizens” – hell, even drug “users” should not be singled out by this! It is a violation of privacy. I see no way it offers a safer society; in my opinion, it offers a more 1984 style society. The past shows us that, if you look back through the CIA during and after the Cold War it is obvious trusting them to watch over us with good intent is a joke. This news shouldn’t shock anyone, and will only spread through-out America if people do not begin to wake up.

Arkansas Law Becoming More & More Anti-Choice, Anti-Women Rights

First, I am extremely pro-choice. Foolish people can say abortion is murder, they can say it is morally wrong, they can say whatever they want. Ladies, don’t listen to their lies. Until they’ve walked in someone else shoes they have no right to judge. Abortion’s save lives; the lives of MOTHER’S. There are many reasons I support abortion. For example, I am against adoption for my own personal reasons which I will write about one day, but people should have the right to make the choice for adoption, but if they, like me, can’t or do not want to chose adoption, abortion should be just as easily available to save the WOMAN’S life. Abortion isn’t an easy choice to make, no. But that does not mean it is the WRONG choice. Actually, sometimes the right choice is the HARDEST choice to make. But strong women make it and go through it, while being harassed by insane right wing…. anyway on to the news!

Yesterday, March 6th, the state legislature in Arkansas overrode the governor’s veto on a so called “fetal heartbeat” abortion bill. This makes Arkansas the state with the most strict laws against abortion in America. This anti-choice, anti-woman law makes it illegal to have an abortion after 12 weeks.

“If the State is interested in protecting fetal life after viability, it may go so far as to proscribe abortion during that period, except when it is necessary to preserve the life or health of the mother,” reads the milestone decision in Roe V Wade, 1973.

The Governor of Arkansas, Mike Beebe, had previously vetoed this bill earlier in the week because, as he said,

8 Year Old Child Taken To Jail for a Tantrum; Failed By School and Police

jmyha-rickman-alton-illinois

Police don’t just abuse their power against adults nor do they stop at teenagers. As 8 year old Jmyha Rickman found out while at her Elementary school in Alton, Ill.

Like many children, school records state she has a history of throwing tantrums in school. But instead of the teachers, the people who are supposed to be trained to deal with children, handling it and noticing she needs attention and help, they called the police in to deal with this child.  I would like to note, I do not know where her parents are but I do know she has a guardian whom takes care of her, which suggests she probably has some emotional issues. Speaking from childhood experience, ‘throwing a tantrum’ at school was my way of asking for help as a child. She very well may be the same; but regardless…she is 8. Why would anyone need to call the police on an 8 year old little girl!? After the cops arrived at the school,

L.A. Wants The Right To Rid Homeless of Property

This month it is expected the city of Los Angeles will be asking the Supreme Court to review a decision made back in September of 2012 by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco. The ruling made by those in San Francisco protected the property and belongings of the homeless. With this in motion, it is much harder for city officials to remove and destroy “abandoned” (homeless persons’) property.  The term “abandon” is very broad, and the removals random and destructive. If this decision is not kept in place, it is simply creating a very vast target area on the people, with a massive negative impact on the homeless. What little these people do have the government wants to remove because they deem it “trash” ? A health hazard to the public, they are now saying due to the recent TB outbreak. However, there is no evidence to suggest it was homeless belongings that sparked the outbreak. To quote the LA Times: Continue reading L.A. Wants The Right To Rid Homeless of Property

Homeless Crisis Across America- With NYC Sadly In The Lead

Wall Street Journal Homeless Chart
Wall Street Journal Homeless Chart

A report titled “50,000: The Bloomberg Legacy of Record Homelessness,” has compiled and released a report I believe is very sickening, disturbing and sad regarding the homeless state in New York City. It also gives suggestions on how homelessness in the city can be reduced. In NYC alone more than 50,000 homeless people sleep in municipal shelters each night. This is a 61% increase since Bloomberg took office… And please keep in mind these are the homeless people who go into shelters, this number is higher because there are plenty of homeless who have no choice but to sleep on the streets, subways, etc. In addition, with Bloomberg still in mind, family homelessness has increased by a staggering 73% in NYC since he’s been in office. Homeless children have increased in these shelters by 22% since last year, with shelters now giving beds to 21,000 kids in the city. This is a problem across the whole of America, with NYC leading, as the following shows.

Arkansas Cop Tasers, Kicks and Arrests Teen For Walking Behind His Mother…

Every police brutality case I read about makes my blood boil. There are never any words that can say how furious it makes me that not only the government allow this to go on, but that the people of America accept that it goes on at the rate in which it does. The brutality cases usually don’t make mainstream (for-profit) media, and many go unreported however! with research you see all over America we have a horrific problem with police corruption and abuse. I have seen and dealt with so many people who have been abused or worse by the police…people need to wake up and demand change. This is sickening, and it is just one case but it is not an uncommon case!

In Arkansas a teen, whom is being identified with the name “J.J” to protect his identity, was seen “approaching a much smaller woman” at night. A cop saw this and said he was concerned for her safety. (Later it was revealed the smaller woman was J.J.’s mother.) The cop approached J.J. and went to arrest him, which he resisted because the cop had no grounds to arrest him on. This officer even admitted later that J.J. was not acting suspiciously and that there was no threat of danger. Yet still, he was arrested for resisting arrest, which his lawyer states was a legitimate thing to do…given J.J. had done nothing to be arrested for. But it gets worse (and sadly, this is not uncommon).

Sharing Knowledge & Activism Isn’t a Crime – It’s Past Time For Change!!!!

We must stop this insanity... I hope you have found peace, thank you, Aaron, for all you are. You'll never be forgotten.
We must stop this insanity… I hope you have found peace, thank you, Aaron, for all you are. You’ll never be forgotten.

This is a short post but it is regarding something I feel very strongly about… Aaron Swartz was only 26 years old; a coder and activist, facing more prison time than most murderers or rapists face, due to the moronic, misled and abusive computer “crime” law in America. Please read the below and then follow the link, where you can sign your name and let the government know that we the people are not okay with these asinine laws. To learn more about the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA) simply click here and it will open a helpful website in a new tab. It is worth a read, as the text is so broad it basically makes most of us liable for prosecution.

The Computer Fraud and Abuse Act is broken.
Tell Congress to fix it.

  1. No more criminal penalties for violating a website’s fine print
  2. No criminal penalties for circumvention techniques that protect privacy and promote security
  3. Make penalties proportionate to offenses

The tragic death of Aaron Swartz, a 26-year-old coder and social activist, has shone a light on the sad truth about America’s misguided computer crime law. The Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA) has vague language that broadly criminalizes accessing a computer without “authorization,” but doesn’t explain what that actually means. It also contains heavy-handed penalties and shows no regard for whether an act was done to further the public good.

Take action by simply clicking here and entering your name. We must stand up against laws which punish those who work and fight for justice and good, and let pedophiles and true criminals out of prison. The system is broken, badly. Let them know that you know.

Please. Again, the link is HERE and it also will open in a new tab.
