Find Your Local Rally for October 22nd, the National Day of Protest Against Police Brutality, Happening TODAY

” This October 22nd, stand with thousands across the country to express our collective outrage, creativity, and resistance in response to the crimes of this system. On October 22nd, WEAR BLACK, FIGHT BACK! ” – The October 22 Coalition

October 22 was been an important day for me for many, many years. It is the day of national police brutality protest. I’ve been taking part of this for at least a decade, missing a few years here and there yes but I never am away in spirit, usually always there in person, but sometimes sadly have had to miss. But I digress. I know protesting isn’t going to solve this issue.

However, I do think today is a day of duty to make sure everyone knows how angry we are, and that we are not going away. This protest has been going on since the late 1990s, and with more and more cities joining in, I hope everyone has a productive but also a safe day. Watch yourself and please know your rights for what they are worth. Protesting rights can be found here. [For what it is worth…Again, please be safe…]

Also tomorrow there is another important event going on in New York City. A court case over yet another murder by the police begins and as many people as possible are needed to support the family and cause. More information below, followed by a list of cities and your local events. First though, let’s take care of the two places I call home, but I’m gonna do it in reverse order, Newark first..

Newark, NJ, being one of those cities, as the poster below suggests. Today, October 22, at 3 pm in Newark, NJ, newark nj

“WE STAND UNITED IN DEFENSE OF OUR NEW CIVILIAN REVIEW BD AND WILL RALLY @ THE LINCOLN MONUMENT @ 3PM ” < Newark, NJ

And NEW YORK! STARTS AT 12pm TODAY!

As for my FIRST home, NYC, today at noon the rally begins at the steps of the Brooklyn Borough Hall.

The page also included the following so I might as well: Take the 2/3 to Clark Street or Borough Hall, 4/5 to Borough Hall, A/C/F to Jay Street-Metrotech, R to Court Street.
March to Barclays Center for second rally follow. [Event Page HERE.]

And before the list of the rest of the cities, please note there is an important event is happening tomorrow, the 23rd. Please show up and show our numbers are not going down… We need the community now to unite more than ever…

“…in an upcoming court case against NYPD Officer Wayne Isaacs, who murdered Delrawn Small on July 4th of last year. The trail will start on 10/23 and is expected to last for 2-3 weeks. For morning attendance, arrive before 9 am to get through security/lines. Afternoon sessions begin after lunch around 2pm. Each day will probably recess sometime between 4-5pm.

Location: Brooklyn Supreme Court, 320 Jay Street, 2nd floorCeremonial Courtroom” Each day will probably recess sometime between 4-5pm.Txt (646) 302-8959 for any question you may have.

All Trains to Brooklyn Borough Hall “

You can access tomorrows event information by clicking here, which will take you to, like most of these event pages will take you to, the related Facebook group page, opening in a new tab.

I truly, truly hope we over flood the courts. I’m curious, how many of you can recall Delrawn Small’s killing? Especially those outside New York… Okay so later today I’ll either be putting up a post in Delrawn’s memory, or making a video; one of the two… After seeing how few people remember or know of this, it reminds me back when I was working in 2004…no one knew. And the few that did…

Anyway… For the rest of America, here ya go. If your city isn’t below, click here for the October 22 website and see what’s up; if nothing is going on, consider starting your own…Speak out, we need VOICES. We need action, honestly, but that’s another story…

Under Trump, Police Will Only Grow Worse

And to prove that, let’s look at just one example as to how. There are legal and other policy changes nationwide I’ve been following and will report on very soon. As for this post, I have to repost and go but this is important…I will expand on it from national and other aspects left out later when able.—

In the Trump era, are politicians and police becoming emboldened at cracking down on the First Amendment and those who criticize their policies?

In Memphis, it seems so.

Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland and the Memphis police have published a black list of political opponents who are not free to move about public spaces in the city.

The list of more than 80 persons includes political activists and persons who have spoken out about public policy or issues involving city government.  Many of them do good works with young people in the community.  Others appear for unclear reasons.

We are calling it the “A-List.”

The list even includes Mary Stewart, whose unarmed 19-year-old son was killed by police in 2015.  Also on the list: a preacher who married a gay couple; leaders of a peace and justice non-profit; Black Lives Matter proponents; persons who have been arrested for filming and observing the police; an independent journalist, and environmental activists.

This, while the city and the Memphis Police Department are operating under a 1978 Department of Justice consent decree against political spying.  MPD also has a policy against gathering “political intelligence,” and it has a policy against stopping people from filming the police and “express(ing) criticism” of police.

In a statement, the mayor’s spokesperson said the list includes persons who pose a “potential security risk” and who must be escorted by police when they are in City Hall.  However, there is no indication that any of the politically targeted persons has ever committed, been arrested for or proposed any violent acts, nor does the city make any such assertion of a threat of violence.

Those named on the list are weighing their legal options.

Link to the “A-List:” www.documentcloud.org/…

Link to MPD Policy and Procedures Manual DR 138: fnolan.com/…

Memphian Fergus Nolan, who was arrested for filming a police vehicle May 30, 2016, while he and others were supporting a greenspace action, discovered the A-List when police pulled him out of a City Council meeting on Feb. 7.  MPD Lt. Albert Bonner looked in a binder and told Nolan he must be escorted by police whenever he set foot in City Hall.

On his way into the Jan. 17, 2017, City Council meeting, police…

URGENT:Amazing Black Mother Savagely Beaten, Living in Torment; We Need to Help Her Demand Justice! PLEASE WATCH

UPDATE & URGENT ATTENTION NEEDED FOR ANTWYNETTE HOUSTON! PLEASE VIEW!

Black Female Police Brutality Survivor needs 3rd Surgery Cleveland Black Lives Matter

First is my plea to ALL ACTIVISTS. WHAT IF SHE WERE YOUR MOM?! SISTER, WIFE??…. NO ONE IS STEPPING UP; SHE IS SUFFERING AND CARRYING IT ALL; PLEASE LET’S ORGANIZE AND HELP HER OBTAIN WHAT IS RIGHTFULLY HERS SO SHE AND HER SON CAN HEAL AND MOVE ON!

please.
As I say, BLACK LIVES MATTER, and so does Antwynette Houston and her little boy. After suffering brutal assault, after a funeral and as her 9 yr old watches from the car, she is left with her shoulder so shattered (is the best way I know to describe it) and what’s more; she is left to deal with it along with everything else on her own while the abusive, sadistic officer wanders around freely. WE NEED YOUR HELP; IF YOU CAN ORGANIZE CHICAGO PLEASE, PLEASE HEAR ME OUT!

Video I just made, or skip below:

Antwynette lives in tremendous pain from being a mother and worrying to physical and trauma and of course, due to the expensive surgery (SHE STILL NEEDS ONE MORE BUT HAS NO FUNDS! I’ve got her gofundme at the bottom along with her paypal) she has the constant threat of being without a home each month. This strong woman is holding up the world and I do wish we as activists against racism and police abuse could help every person in need, I know that’s a lot easier said than done.

I’m not asking for that. I‘m asking, pleading and begging with those who organize protests and accomplish so much via them to please, rally up and help boycott the Kentucky Derby so her state and local government will realize we are NOT going to take racism, hate, police violence and disrespect -to say the least- towards women!

PLEASE SHARE… We *CAN* DO THIS! Imagine if this were your mother or sister or wife??? She is the best mom in the world; she is raising a brilliant little boy and she is doing it all with love and care for him. It’s beyond time something good happens to her, please, help me help her or simply help her; either way… please don’t ignore this…..

It’s sad that we have to ask and engage in protests and boycotts just so this horrible government and the law enforcement ‘officials’ will give the victim the justice and/or health care/financial comp/etc not only deserved but what any human with a good soul would want to happen for her and her 9 year old child without her having to take any more action.

She doesn’t have the money to obtain the surgeries she needs from the horrifically broken shoulder this off duty officer shattered; after her last expensive surgery (off borrowed money) she now is forced to live with homelessness as a possibility every month… Beyond that it gets no better. Antwynette lives in horrible, excruciating pain while longing to get back to living her life as her and her child were… As she struggles with these traumas, she continues raising her brilliant son with the most love any child could need; I wish I could have had a mother like her; he is blessed and I know her strength and love will be the foundation of his healing.

I don’t have kids but I love them; I can only imagine how Antwynette feels as she tries to hold up all that’s going on around her, waiting for the day when perhaps justice of any sort will be given so she can heal physically and emotionally!

So many mothers suffer and worry…and hurt over the pain of their child. He didn’t deserve this; she sure as hell didn’t deserve this- and we as the people, the people who KNOW the truth and KNOW we can make a difference must stand up for victims… ALL victims; and we can! Spread knowledge if nothing else, please…. If we unite and get out and make it so no one can say they haven’t heard about this atrocity, then perhaps things will move along a bit faster.

In Chicago and all over we’ve managed to unite and protest. This strong Black mother along side her precious and intelligent little boy will survive and get through this; I know it- we cannot settle for anything less; we won’t!

But what about the RIGHT NOW? … Do people not know? Do you not care? Feel you can’t contribute or… why are YOU inactive towards this cause?

Antwynette writes:
“For nearly 3 years I’ve endured severe pain, been unable to work and facing potential homelessness on a monthly bases. I continue to wait for the city of Louisville to pay for damages in which they have acknowledged responsibility.

My encounter with the Louisville Metro Police Department revealed several problems for citizens if they are physically harmed or left permanently injured by police personnel. Despite whether you are innocent of any charges or wrong doing, you will be left responsible for the cost of any and all medical bills resulting from your encounter with police until they feel like paying.
————–
I found out around August 2014, a whole year later, that I needed another surgery and that my injuries were more severe than originally thought. I asked the Commonwealth Attorney Tom Wine to intervene and press charges against the officer, he refused. I’ve since filed a lawsuit against the city and Officer Scott Sturgeon.

Well now I’m upset! I’m broken physically, emotionally, and mentally; and quite frankly, I feel compelled to take action myself and try to use public support to persuade the City of Louisville (or Mayor of Louisville) to do the right thing by making me whole again and charging now retired officer Scott sturgeon with felony assault. I’m asking each and every citizen of the City of Louisville & across the country to stand with me, and tell the City of Louisville, Kentucky; Mayor of Louisville, Kentucky; and the Louisville Metro Police Department to acknowledge the Officer’s excessive use of force against me over a parking violation & charge him, to acknowledge the injuries caused to me by the officer, to publicly apologize to me, and most importantly, pay all of my medical expenses (past, present, and future) that are directly related to the officer’s excessive use of force against me.

Until the City of Louisville corrects this misdeed, I’m also asking each of you to join me in boycott of the 2016 Kentucky Derby horse races being held at Churchill Downs and also all festivities surrounding the Kentucky Derby itself. I ask you to stand united with me, and please sign this petition to help right the injustice heaped on me. I sincerely thank you for any support you are willing to give me.”

Check out her written story as well as sign and share the mentioned petition by clicking HERE. Please, please be sure to share.

As in my video I say, the petition is simply to say you will join the rest of us in boycotting the Kentucky Derby, which brings in tons of money to the corrupt town. If they see their numbers go down, that people want the government to treat ALL of us with care, concern, respect and medical attention that is deserved beyond a doubt to victims, this is the most basic and mandatory of actions; give medical care to those in need!

Please spread the word; please let us find a way to give her relief from all the burdens she has had to hold up, not only as a mother, but ALL of it; from the mental and emotional to the financial stress and pain, she has suffered! And let no one forget, the extreme and very painful injury she received by an off duty officer.

She lives in pain, every, day. She’s a kind and good woman and mother; shouldn’t we do all we can to give her the kindness she deserves? Shouldn’t we be fighting hard as we can to demand her suffering to stop?!

How can we NOT do something??

The following is the previous article I wrote, for the interested. Old article begins:

In Kentucky, one early morning, Antwynette Houston pulled into a shop with her 9 year old son. Imagine if this were you. Imagine the trauma both her and her child endure both mentally and she also was severely physically wounded.

An off duty police officer approached her over something as insane as how her car was parked….
This guy for all she knew could have been anyone, he just stated he was a cop, and refused, refused, to call the police or show his badge; in any way identify himself as an actual cop.  After verbally harassing her for awhile, she was dragged out of her car and brutally attacked by an off duty police officer.
Turns out he wasn’t even an officer, he’s a Sergent- doesn’t work the streets – but felt the need to harass this Black woman over ‘how she was parked.’ For that, she winds up being yanked out of her car -after she told him she had just had surgery a year prior,- breaks her shoulder & causing other serious injuries.

I feel her telling you is so much more powerful than anything I can say, so I beg you to please watch her video. She is in need of a 3rd surgery; in need of attention and justice. Let’s do all we can to help her get her life back on track- lord knows what this has done to her traumatically… This is exactly why we -anyone who cares for human rights in general but especially Black Lives Matter- need to help and bring attention to her traumatic case…
Here is her story;

Please donate to help her obtain the surgery she needs; the justice she deserves. If the media and the world is going to ignore the majority of police brutality cases, it is our job to help and expose in any way we can. If you can’t afford to donate, please, please share.

EXPOSED-Police Violence VS Community Violence

Screen Shot 2015-12-23 at 8.55.40 AMIt’s no surprise the cops enjoy lying…still, I think this article is very important to read. I hope this is a sign that people are starting to focus energies on the real enemy, and unite together… One people, one struggle…

The police often say that the police are where the crime is as a way to suggest that the reason that they are more violent in certain communities is because they have to be there because the communities are more violent,” DeRay Mckesson, a member of Campaign Zero’s planning team and one of the most prominent voices in the Black Lives Matter movement, told The Huffington Post. “We wanted to see how the data matched to that suggestion, and what we saw is that it doesn’t.

“It just reminds us that the police are choosing to be violent in communities,” he added.

A common retort to movements against police violence has been “Well, what about black-on-black crime?” — a phrase that originated in the 1980s and has been used to cite black people as the problem instead of poverty, poor educational opportunities, proximity and other factors that spike crime rates in all communities despite racial composition.

“For us it was pretty simple. We’ve been hearing these arguments going around without any data or any evidence from folks who are saying that police are killing so many people — particularly black people — because they say black people are in high-crime communities and potentially involved in criminal activity,” said Samuel Sinyangwe, another member of the planning team.

The group compared violent crime rates from the 2014 FBI Uniform Crime report to the number of people police killed in each city this year. To confirm the findings, Sinyangwe said Campaign Zero also ran three years worth of police killing data and arrived at the same conclusion.

“This myth that people have created that community violence is the cause of police violence is absolutely false,” said Brittany Packnett, another member of Campaign Zero’s planning team, who also sat on Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon’s (D) Ferguson Commission. “This is an issue of policy, of accountability and of culture inside of departments.”

Maryland Police Officer Caught on Camera Beating Handcuffed Man (VIDEO)

Though it is vital for us to continue to film police treating people worse than even animals would treat us, it is discouraging to see videos like this, or videos which show obvious murder of innocent people (including teens) only to see the cops get a paid vacation before being returning to work as usual.

I’m not meaning to be negative. It is essential to record police for many reasons; I just wish these videos showing police misconduct and brutality were given used to hold cops accountable for their inhumane actions. I don’t care what the person has or has not done; there is no justifying the actions of beating, killing or anything of the like to a citizen. It only makes it that much tragic and detestable knowing this young man was not only handcuffed but also had done nothing wrong. Even if he had this behavior is uncalled for he was no threat to any,

Again, please keep recording the cops in action… One day I believe these videos and the sick officers behind these killings, harassment and/or beatings (especially those who can’t fight back. Even if they could fight back, though, more than likely no one will -which only further shows the injustice in America’s legal system.

The Fifth Column

ADDICTING INFO

In a shocking video uploaded to Twitter on Saturday evening, a handcuffed black man is seen being viciously assaulted by a Prince George’s County officer in Hyattsville, Maryland.

The video was tweeted in four parts around 6:15 p.m, by Twitter user @yungthugrat, who asked to be identified by his first name, Prince.

As the car rolls up and Prince begins filming, the man is seen lying on the ground as the officer straddles him and and punches him in the face, while he is handcuffed.  A woman in the vehicle with Prince notes that the man is bleeding.

In the next segment, the young man is flipped over on…

Latest Example of Police Abusing Their Power Against Civilians

There is no reason for these cops in California’s behavior. First, teens are teens, people are people; we all have different personalities which we should not be punished for if it is not hurting anyone -just as this teen was hurting not one soul. Even so, if he had been an adult instead of a teen still he does nothing to justify the officers use of excessive force; the hitting, the use of their baton on the unarmed, non-dangerous young man…especially granted they had already detained him. No officer’s life is at risk, there is absolutely no excuse for these cops behavior.

I’d also like to note, to those of you who think cops are in danger; those who think cops are risking their lives… I’d just like to note the year 2015 has -to no ones surprise- been the safest year for police in America in decades. That’s not to say they were in grave danger in recent years, however. Being a police officer in America isn’t now, nor previously has it even been in the top 5-10 most dangerous jobs.

Again; I don’t care what these cops give to the public as the reason(s) for the unnecessary actions; this kid is no threat and this behavior by men whom swear to serve and protect are uncalled for… Just as countless other kids and teens have been no threat in the past, yet still the police felt the need to use excessive and too often deadly force. In the below video of one of the latest attacks on an unarmed youth by America’s finest, aka our law enforcement; we watch as 9 overly aggressive cops hitting and forcefully ‘detaining the youth’ for the horrible crime of jay walking.

What makes it even more tragic is my being able to note this teen was lucky. Why? In the past (including recent) young males have been killed by the police for this same, “crime”.

If a cop is jumpy, he shouldn’t join law enforcement. If a cop is a coward whom must resort to violence or excessive force as we see in this video, he shouldn’t be a cop.
Police in England shame the American police force. I have proof which I’ve compiled into a report which I need to post, along with a video.
Rest assured; it will all be posted soon. I wish I could spend all of mine time doing this, sadly I can’t…for now.

And from the RT:

The footage begins with the cop restraining the young man and then starting to beat the teenager with a baton.

“It’s a f**cking kid!” someone in the group of onlookers keeps shouting as the situation unfolds. “Get off him! He’s been jaywalking! Leave him alone, he didn’t do anything wrong!”

“Stop resisting!” the cop shouts, not paying any attention.

The boy is seen sitting in shock, with his face in his hands, with a group of passers-by watching. The cop who detained the guy apparently called for reinforcement as more cops arrive at the scene to detain the jaywalker.

Four police officers come up to the teen and wrestle him to the ground. Then another four law enforcers cordon off the scene from the public.

In the end, there are nine officers involved in detaining the jaywalker. Finally, the teenager is handcuffed and marched off to a police car.
