Sandra Bland’s mother, Geneva Reed-Veal, speaks out and she does it far better than I. She also makes real points that we as activists against racism and against police brutality as well as all forms of government racial brutality and injustice need to think and act on.
Don’t believe racism is real? Look at Tamir Rice vs Jeremy Mardis, for an example. As I say in my video, if you cannot see this blatant racism in America you are CHOOSING to be blind.
After many messages I’m back and ready to start this channel, for real… This video is re: my skin color, my relationship with racism & why I speak on it and police brutality. Also a bit on why I’ve been gone. And then there’s a bit in here about the blatant impact of racism in the white community and within the government… Thank you to every single soul who has stood with me during hard times. Next video will be on the research reports I do and when I’ll be putting them out, in addition to other upcoming topics. Don’t
And with that, I’ll have a new one up soon. I’m back on it whether it matters or not. =)
I only agree with her in one way; that is, Black History month should be abolished. Why? BECAUSE THERE IS TOO MUCH BLACK HISTORY FOR 1 MONTH, A SHORT MONTH AT THAT; BECAUSE EVERY MONTH SHOULD BE BLACK HISTORY MONTH JUST AS EVERY MONTH IS WHITE HISTORY MONTH!
And when Black history month comes, it is never the truth we would learn; no. It was slavery, the civil rights movement or Dr. King. Never anything about Black history in Africa; the foundations of some of the most iconic buildings in D.C. including the White House (even though they had to be done under an extremely VILE situation). The wrongs and the goods should all be learned; accepted; it hurts yes, but we have to own up to it- it makes me disgracefully ashamed as does my skins light color because of the privileges that it brings me that I do not want! I am so sick of whites saying where is this privilege? …….. I’m just gonna leave this alone now and leave you with my video.
I made this video into two parts mainly because my phone messed up the main video 🙂 They both are about facts, statistics an information regarding the police in America’s racist trigger finger, the most dangerous jobs, who should and shouldn’t be cops and why, stats and numbers and most troubling a bit of news regarding both Tamir Rice and Eric Garner.
I’m aiming to have 2 or so more videos up tonight or in the morning…
I’m going to do something different here… I’m going to use photos instead of words to share the reality of environmental racism. Toxic waste dumps, 1 of 5, coming up in the next video; that and a police brutality one hopefully sooner, but for sure within 2-3 days.
As I say in the video, this is and has been, and CONTINUES to be a NATIONAL problem within mainly Black communities. So here are a few photos….
First, notice below these two photos… The kids living in South Central, LA, have only a THIRD of the lung capacity compared to kids who live only 29 minutes away in Santa Monica, LA. Why?… Think about it…
I am absolutely shocked to only now be finding out about the horrific slaughter that took place in Philadelphia against the Black men, women and children living together and involved in a group called MOVE back in 1985. It mirrors almost perfectly what is going on in Oregon, and it answers the speculative question “what if it were Black Lives Matter protesters instead”- though we already know that tragic answer, this gives us even more solid footing to stand on and sadly validate the sickest outcome.
So, you mean to try and tell me, two groups who feel wronged by the government get treated totally different;
yet racism doesn’t exist; white privilege doesn’t exist?
No one can actually truly believe that unless they’ve brainwashed themselves.
If it were Black Live Matters protesters they’d already have been killed, I think everyone knows that. They wouldn’t be holding press conferences, shaking hands with police, posting to Facebook asking for “supplies” or “gift packages” as they sat there in a Federal building armed and willing to fire or die, as they are so proud to say. During peaceful protests Black Lives Matters protesters get arrested, beaten and we all know far worse.
When I found out that MOVE pretty much wanted the same thing in
principal, meaning, they were anti-government and wanted to self govern, you would think the same reality they faced, the white people in Oregon would be facing, too. They also are anti-government. They also are armed and happy to tell you they’ll fire. But what is happening is the government rubbing our face in the fact that they are racist and think they can get away with these crimes.
I am ashamed to admit I only am recently learning about what happened in 1985 to those in that tragic slaughter. I’ve just bought the book, and will be watching the documentary afterward. Regardless of being anti-government, there is no need for a bombing turned inferno -which would then engulf homes around it as well, leaving 200 plus people homelessbecause the Mayor ordered the fire fighters NOT to respond to the fires.
As people tried to escape they were faced with two options; be shot down by military weapons at the hands of racist cops or go back inside and burn alive.
The sick mayor afterwards would call it a perfect operation; he would also go on to be re-elected. No punishment other than the shaking of a finger for the “reckless bombing” was done to him or the city.
During the trial to figure out what had caused this bombing, one of two women were asked by a government official in court if her son beat her or was otherwise violent towards her, she answers with how irrelevant the question is, asks if he will be questioning the other side about domestic abuse and obviously upset she makes her point and goes silent. His question was demeaning and uncalled for; absolutely irrelevant to the point of the case which was: why did Philadelphia drop two pounds of military explosives on a house with men, women and children in it?
In the midst of all the emotion, the woman sitting next to the above mother asked the official the following question; a question that’s actually relevant: And she asks,
“I just want to make it clear in my mind, so that I understand, am I to assume that the bomb was dropped on MOVE people because Frank beat his mother?”
Thirty years later in 2015 a writer born and raised in Philly wrote this very insightful article of that tragic May day in 1985, trying to understand why America would bomb it’s own people. Not that it hasn’t before. Black Wall Street and the community there suffered from another one of America’s evil plots. Click here for the site that will take you to where you can find the documentary or click here if you are like me and first want to read the book.
If every man with a gun (and every woman, child,) can’t be treated like these white males, then these white males shouldn’t be treated as they are, either. If you are going to murder anyone for standing up against the government, then you must murder all.
But the government won’t ever do that. Killing white people is “bad”. Killing anyone else… That’s just part of their job, apparently, and they are damn proud of it. So the question is, what the hell are we going to do to change this!?
Finally, knowing all of this, even though it is just touching the utmost basics, who in their right mind would say that the same thing or something of the like would not happen if those in Oregon were not white? Look at what happens on the streets to those who aren’t white! That alone should give some sickening answers.
And how can anyone say that whites do not have a disgusting privilege? How can you not see that? How can you not want to fight it but instead abuse it? If you can’t see the cruel and disgusting double standard when it comes to race in this country you have succeeded -or someone has- at putting you to sleep; it’s time you wake up.
Just to remind you guys, being delayed at an airport or on the highway is not something I consider to be a “huge risk” as some random, insane guy said after tweeting me some more intelligent lines prior that. If anyone can find any statistics that show sitting in a car on the highway, or, sitting on a plane or being held up in an airport for an hour or so is a danger to the lives of people? Show me some statistics that prove this; show me anything that compares to the amount of Black men and women who are killed and/or beaten daily for no reason whatsoever!
As I noted to him, the Black community is being targeted, men (and women) of all ages are DYING, being brutally killed by police who walk away without any form of punishment; in fact too many get a promotion or some other form of recognition.
Having to live your life, every day, worrying about the police; worrying about how you look, what you are doing, where your hands are, where your eyes are, is your seat belt on, and on and on and on I could go- but that’s not what this guy or too many other selfish souls want to think about. How dare their lives be put on hold for an hour or so regarding something they not only don’t understand but some of them have no desire to learn about.
I work with children, I have young Black children terrified of the cops; I have one child who is now house bound after Tamir Rice. He is 10. How would you comfort your precious child when you know the reality he is afraid of is real?
But the people who can’t see the struggle and the reasons behind this protest or any of the protests for that matter don’t have to deal with that. Either that, or they want to believe it, even though it’s right in front of their faces.
