Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a missing 15-year-old girl from the District.
Officer say Aniyah Flythe was last seen in the 300 block of Anacostia Road in Southeast, D.C. on Friday, April 12.
Aniyah is described by police as a black female with a dark complexion, 5-feet-5-inches tall and 160 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a white shirt, blue jeans and white glittery sneakers.
If there is one thing I am not, it is a ‘girly girl’ who enjoys make-up and …all that. I, of course, love eyeliner and mascara, but that isn’t just a look that is a representation of many different things depending on the day/mood…And it is also a tribute to past lives I have not forgotten; as well as a sign of gratitude and a promise to never forget the ancestors who would be so ashamed… We need change;… But I know as we fight forward we also need some positive topics, too, once and again…
And here we are! I think this is so awesome and I had no idea that Target had 1 let alone 22 products that are Black owned! Being a huge supporter of “Buy Black” I will make sure to check it out; and I hope you all will too…

Fourteen year old Selina Brandon has been missing since Friday morning in Las Vegas. Selina has special needs and requires medicaion that she has been without for two days. Her family is desperate to find her.
Selina is 5’9” with long box braids and had on a floral shirt and blue jeans.She boarded her school bus at 7 a.m. and made it to the campus of Shadow Ridge High School in the northwest part of the city, but never made it to class. She was last seen at around 9 a.m. Friday morning leaving the campus of Shadow Ridge.
Selina is believed to be in the company of another teen by the name of Maggie, who is a known, chronic runaway.
Although Selina is 14, she functions on about an 11-year-old level.She likely does not understand the seriousness or gravity of what is happening right now.
This is the hardest and most personal post I have ever had to write. Selina is the only daughter of my first cousin, Shane Brandon. Listening to him choke up as he told me what was going on yesterday morning gutted me. I have never seen him so broken.

Selina was last seen with this girl, Maggie. This first post is from a previous time that Maggie ran away, but shows a good detail of her face.
This hit me hard; due to the horrific nature of what this girl went through, due to the lack of attention or concern at least from what I saw… Maybe because I was getting alerts while she was still alive & feel I should have been able to do more than tweet and share random stupid posts about what was going on.
The search for the Lancaster girl, who was the subject of an Amber Alert, came to a heartbreaking conclusion. Her body was discovered inside an east Oak Cliff home late Saturday night.
Shavon Randle, 13 year old Black female… Her body was found along with her 19 year old kidnapper. She was being held ransom over drugs. As stated by local reporters:
” Perkins girlfriend is identified as Ledoris Randle, a relative of Shavon. Randle told police that she received a call at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday from a private number and the voice on the other end said they had Shavon and warned if she called the police, the 7th grader would be killed.
The arrest affidavit says a co-worker of Ledoris Randle confided to her that one of the men that had the narcotics stolen was Fields and that “Fields has history with kidnapping people.”
An anonymous informant told the FBI the a male she knew advised “he was going to kidnap a child to get his narcotics back”, according to the affidavit. The male is identified as Owens. “
Why would anyone involve a child…!? I know this happens far too often; innocent kids victim of stray bullets or other horrors they shouldn’t be anywhere close to. And that’s sickening but they targeted and picked this child all over… drugs? I don’t know what to say other than…

This is an emergency; as we know Black women -including innocent children!!!; For some unknown sick reason!- won’t make national news or state news even in this case… Remember the D.C. girls? That wasn’t an isolated case….
In any case, on my iPhone my “system alert” for the Amber Alert system has been going off a lot; usually it goes off and never comes back on but this sweet little girl must be in serious fear and harm as it’s gone off at least 3-4 times. The suspect was last heard from in Lancaster, Texas at 10:00 am on 6/28/17. Law enforcement officials believe this child to be in grave or immediate danger.
My rant about the all too common act of missing Black females, Black people in general if you get into the details and history… But you’d think if this was anyone else, these kids would be all over national “media”, they would have breaking news never-ending until every last victim and their abductor is located…but with there being so many vanishing in the same approximate time period one would think they would have at least some common decency and treat this case as they would any case of blond, blue eyed girls that were missing. But no….Not even at this large number all vanishing so suddenly…, all from around the same general area…. Not even now will they act as they should. This is happening all too often and I’m going to be talking about the history or some history in America regarding the mistreatment of Black people that for the most part is never spoke of or acknowledged. The trend sadly continues it seems but we all can unite and no longer do we form the minority………..
This is an update on the case of a young, Black teenage female being turned over and dropped out of her chair, drug across the floor and arrested; violating the department’s policy as well as his oath as a cop. I don’t need to add this happened because he knew he could get away with it because the teenage girl is Black. That is sick, sad and heartbreaking as well as enraging but it is true. If this happened to a blonde, blue eyed white girl the entire situation would have gone down differently, she would have just been acting her age and I don’t believe the cops would have ever been called. But I digress, now that you know my personal view on that I want to talk about what the U.S. Justice Department decided after 2 years of apparent searching for a way out.
The lengths America’s government will go to in order to ensure police don’t go to jail or receive any punishment is absolutely astounding. They are allowed to use the stupidest excuses; and this one took 2 years for them to find- you’d think they’d have come up with a better “loophole” than they did.What’s especially surprising in this case from 2015 is the 2 years it took for the U.S. Justice Department to come up with such a flimsy excuse for a cops abuse.
After 2 years the prosecution realized suddenly, hey, this case isn’t in our jurisdiction because it was a mistake not an intentional violation of civil rights! Yeah, let that soak in. Let’s explore that and go a bit deeper.
A cell phone & a teenage girl refuses to give up her cell phone, then she refuses to get out of her seat, after school officials allegedly, “plead” with her to get up -allegedly. I just want to add, she was a teen acting as many of us would have, too. Imagine her your child. I can say had I had a cell phone in school I would have behaved similarly. I note this because teenagers are teenagers…she did no wrong and anyone who thinks that way doesn’t belong on my page.
Additionally, the teenage female was also accused of “verbally challenging” an officer; all she did was tell him what he was doing was wrong, I might add. It finally led to the cop saying she hit him, but the aprox 15 witnesses say as she was being drug across the room she was throwing her arms about. I would assume she was trying to gain balance or her grounding, I don’t know nor does it matter as it would be terrifying to be flipped out of your chair by a cop, then drug across the floor violently. Donald Trump is all hate & deception. If he gets in power nothing good will come from it, only evil. Look at all the extreme and previously in the shadow racists he has awoken. I’m not sure which is worse; him or his insane supporters.
I admire all the strong women who have lost a child and are now standing up and trying to change how this sick world is; but somehow from the moment I first listened to Tamir Rice’s mother, Samaria Rice, speak I felt an especially deep admiration and respect for her. That has only grown tonight.
First, I didn’t watch either of the conventions. Donald Trump is a psychopath and truly cruel while Hillary Clinton brings us nothing more than the same lies, political mask and deception that is so common place for a politician. And while I am happy to read that some of the women who make up the Mothers of the Movement attended and shared their stories, pleading for justice and change… That they walked to the stage to cheers of Black Lives Matter is the little extra that would have sent chills down my spine from the power of their words, their energy and purpose, collected together. But I digress.
One of the mothers said Hillary would say and stand with Black Lives Matter. In fact, the title of the article I read first was something along the lines of, “Hillary Sits and Listens to Mothers who’ve lost a child to police racism” or something. It was totally misleading to start; I had no idea at that point it was just a speech at the DNC; secondly, Hillary can talk all she wants or ‘listen’ but someone sincere; wouldn’t they listen one on one and in private? Wouldn’t it be on their top priorities and a topic always made clear?
I was disappointed to hear some of the mothers say that they believe Hillary cares. I think she does more than Trump, but her care is a fake sort; it’s time for something better for this country so we may change and become that great country people talk about; the one we’ve NEVER been.
While it made me sad to hear a few of those women supporting and trusting Hillary with this cause; Samaria Rice came through for me… Notice her missing from the group? She didn’t attend for she doesn’t endorse either; there hasn’t been a candidate that she supports… Because she wants change and for Black Lives to TRULY MATTER and she wants it -rightfully so!!!- now… As I do; as we all do…

The following is a poem written by a successful husband and father; a lawyer, journalist as well as having the honor to be there when the NAACP was founded, becoming one of the first people to join. A.J. Smitherson is his name, a name -among many others- that should be known to all, yet the history books somehow managed to add this bit of American history. Wonder why. 🙄
Mr. Smitherson did survive the attack on the successful Black community, thankfully, however he lost all he had worked for to jealous bigots who wished they could be him, but knew they couldn’t ever accomplish what was being accomplished in Greenwood. Because of the success of him and many, many other Blacks living there, Mr. Smitherson was but one of a countless number of men and women that lost what they had worked so hard for; their lands, businesses, beautiful homes and so forth, to envious racists, during what is called the Tulsa Riots.
Greenwood, OK, or Black Wall Street, was burned and destroyed by these jealous cowards with no souls. The people behind it were nothing but cruel white losers whom felt envy and fear as well as unjustified hate towards the success in the Black community. Why so many whites feared/fear this I don’t understand and probably never will.
Don’t mistake me; I understand the reasons that are obvious among that sort; they didn’t want to see the Black community thriving. But what I do not understand & never will is why this is an issue that upsets them? Black success is human success; we should be happy anytime a community gets together and creates something better than what was, especially at that time.
One day Black “Wallsteet” will rise again and when it does, I know where all my money will be spent shopping. As a child I dedicated my life to fighting hate and racism and I would fight to the end to see this again. Er, by that I mean; I would fight and die happily to see many and more Black Wall Streets pop up all over America, with no chance of pathetic, jealous creatures ripping it apart or burning it down by mindless morons.
